Upon entering our office you will be greeted by our friendly front desk staff and welcomed to our clinic. If you haven’t already done so, we will personally help you fill out our patient forms.
You will then be introduced to the doctor who will go over the patient forms with you and discuss any health concerns you may have. This is the time when the doctor gets to learn more about you, what symptoms you may be having, how your conditions is affecting your life and what goals you have with regards to your health.
After you talk with the doctor he will perform a chiropractic examination, evaluating posture, testing range of motion, reflexes, and other orthopedic and neurological tests. These test provide the doctor with more information about your individual problems.
X-rays may be taken in our office to assess the health of the spine and rule out any serious spinal conditions. X-rays are a tool that helps us determine what areas of the spine need attention. You will always be shown your x-rays and have them thoroughly explained to you.
After the doctor has reviewed your history, collected information from the exam and viewed any x-rays that may have been ordered, he will explain why you are having symptoms and what treatment options you have. The doctors address the 4 question most patients have:
1. What’s wrong with me?
2. Can chiropractic help?
3. How long will it take?
4. What is my financial responsibility?
After any questions you have are answered, the doctor will likely provide treatment on the first visit. The doctor will explain what type of treatment you will be receiving and style of adjustment you will be give. We want you to be comfortable with your treatment, our doctors are trained in many different adjusting techniques to make you comfortable.
At the end of your first visit the doctor will likely give you some instructions on things you can do at home to help the healing process. Icing instructions, specific stretches, or home restrictions may be given to optimize your healing potential depending of the condition you have.
